Wondering where to stop on a North Loop Brewery Crawl? Check out this day trip itinerary in the North Loop in Minneapolis!
This itinerary is perfect if you are not sure where to start in trying craft beer and also for experienced craft beer connoisseurs. All the stops in this itinerary go in one direction and are fairly close together, making this an easy brewery crawl to follow.
So, let’s dive into where to stop on a North Loop Brewery Crawl!
North Loop Brewery Crawl
1. Start your day at the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market
Since we did this crawl in the summer, we started at the Farmer’s Market for a late breakfast. One of us stood in line for coffee while the other waited in line for strawberry crepes. Such a perfect combo of an iced latte with a delicious crepe. An amazing way to start the day.
We used the Farmer’s Market as a starting point and walked to all the breweries from here. (Listed in order below.) If you didn’t want to go to the Farmer’s Market, start at Number Twelve Cider which we’ll talk about next.
2. Grab a couple of flights at Number Twelve Cider
Tasting cider is the perfect place to start the crawl. We basically told the bartender to pick for us and did two flights (that we shared amongst the 3 of us). A sweeter flight and a dry flight. Both flights were interesting and fun to try the differences between the two.
If you are hungry, try their outdoor stationary food truck, Little Tomato. Where you can get amazing wood-fired pizza.

3. Try a flight at Inbound Brew Co
Inbound Brew Co is right down the road from Number 12 Cider and the perfect next stop. Luckily, their menu is very easy to understand and simple to order. We tried a couple of the “light” side, one being Raspberry Jam Bam, and from their “hoppy” side, an IPA, Hazy Shades. All were very good. And their space is so neat with windows all around which most are open like a garage in the summer.
They also have food trucks and hosts fun events like karaoke, trivia and live music throughout the year.
4. Hang out on the patio at Fulton Taproom
The Fulton Taproom’s whole vibe is so cool. As you walk to the entrance of the building, you’ll walk by their fun patio and you’ll immediately get excited to hang out here. A beautiful space with picnic tables and cornhole games. Just a really incredible summer hang out spot. Try their originals, Lonely Blonde and Sweet Child of Vine. Very tasty! I would love to go back and try their impressive list of seltzers as well.
Furthermore, if you need to munch while drinking, they do have a menu with your typical delicious bar food.
5. Get some much-needed caffeine or food at Graze North Loop
At this point, you will probably need caffeine or food. Graze North Loop has it all. Super fun space, one of my favorites of the day. There are two levels, including a rooftop patio, fun bars, over 5 eateries, and a coffee shop. Furthermore, the vibe is so neat with 70’s style seating, macrame, and a primo view of downtown. A must stop!
6. Make your final stop at Modist Brewing Co
Our final stop of the day is at Modist On our way here we had much debate on how the name is pronounced. Well, they rectify that right away, it’s MA-dist. They must get this question a lot as it’s listed everywhere, on their menu, website, the walls… Hilarious. Modist is a fun spot with unique brews. For example, they have a milkshake IPA that is brewed with milk sugar, graham cracker and keylimes. Very interesting. And their menu is always changing, so, super fun to try new things.
Oh, and let’s talk about the bathroom quick. I’ll be honest, the bathroom sign puzzled me for the longest time. There is no Men’s or Women’s sign. Just what it shows in the picture above. I finally decided to go to the right since there were no urinals on that side… and, I made the right choice!
Final thoughts on the North Loop Brewery Crawl
I had such a blast doing this crawl and I know you will too! If you are more of a beginner, it was super helpful for me that we shared flights, or 4 or 5 small pours at every location to try the different flavors. Also, be sure to ask bartenders what they recommend. Last thing I suggest, is going earlier in the day to beat the crowds. Have fun making those memories!

Fabulous information and post, Amy!
I love the Fulton Brewery and yes, you ought to try their seltzers. I find them WAAAAY better than commercially marketed products and superior to other local craft seltzers. More local brewery and distillery crawls please! 💐😁💐
Thank you, Patrick! Ooh good to know about the Seltzers, I can’t wait to go back to try them! It’s been fun discovering the brewery/cider world. More to come!
